Father Yesupadam Bobbili   1962-2021

On Tuesday Morning we received the very sad and shocking news of the sudden death of Father Yesupadam Bobbili who served with us from last March until early November 2020.  Father Yesu suffered a massive heart attack at his parish in India on Monday January 11 ^th.  While  he had intended to remain with us for only three weeks his visit was extended for nearly nine months due to the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic and his inability to return to India because of the cancellation of flights and the various restrictions put in place. Those months turned out to be a very providentially beautiful time for him and for all of us.  Father Yesu embodied all of the qualities of a great priest. He was humble, thoughtful, kind, generous, faithful, prayerful, reverent, pius and loving. In fact, he would be the first one in the chapel at the rectory each morning spending long periods of time in quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  He was and will continue to be a fine example to us his brother priests and to all of the members of our parish who learned from him and grew to love him during his months with us here at Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Pompeii. 
 
We extend our deepest sympathy, prayers and love to Father Yesu’s family here in the United States and in India.  We will always remember Father Yesu for the many ways he made Jesus Christ present to us through his priestly ministry – his thoughtful and inspiring homilies, his faithful, attractive and beautiful spirit and his smile and wonderful sense of humor. You may recall how Father Yesu often interjected into his homilies the words “Dear Friends”.  He truly meant those words.  He loved this parish and all of the people here and came to consider everyone here his friends.  Today we thank God for having given us such a great friend too in Father Yesu.  We will miss him and look forward to seeing him again one day in Heaven!
 
In memory of Father Yesu we invite all parishioners to join us for a  Memorial Mass on Tuesday evening  January 19th, at  7:00PM at  Sacred Heart Church.   Let us pray for the happy repose of Father Yesu’s soul.  May he rest in peace.
